Black Stars forward, Jordan Ayew, has opened up on their dramatic comeback win over Plymouth Argyle in the Carabao Cup.
The Eagles were 1-0 down to Plymouth at halftime in round two of the Carabao Cup at the end of August and came back to win 4-2 minutes after Jordan Ayew, Jeffrey Schlupp and others were subbed into the game in the second half.
Just a minute into the second half, Crystal Palace conceded a second goal and were two goals behind.
Jordan Ayew came on in the 55th minute and provided an assist to reduce the deficit to one goal before Schlupp, who also came on with Jorda, assisted the equalizer in the 61st minute.
Roy Hodgson’s side then added two more goals to win 4-2 and progress to the third round of the Carabao Cup and will face Manchester United.
Speaking about the game, Jordan described it as a moment of madness, referring to how quickly the game changed.
“That was a moment of madness. Four minutes, five minutes and the game just changed. That’s the beauty of football. Emotions, you know; up and down. We are glad to progress and we just need to keep on going,” Jordan Ayew told Crystal Palace TV.
He’s currently with the Black Stars preparing for the Liberia international friendly on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium after beating the Central African Republic to qualify for the 2023 AFCON.
