Ghana coach, Chris Hughton has lauded the fans in Kumasi ahead of Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifier against Angola today.
The fans were at the training session of the team on Tuesday and Wednesday to offer their support ahead of the crucial doubleheader.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference the former Brighton manager stated the Kumasi fans could make a difference against the Palancas Negras at the Baba Yara Stadium.
“I know the difference Kumasi can make, it is passionate and vocal here, and any team that wants to do well needs vocal fans.”
He also reiterated that the players will have to play well to secure the win.
“The team has a responsibility to return this, so the supporters must enjoy it, we cannot guarantee any result, but we can guarantee the team will give everything to get a result," he added.
The Black Stars will travel to Luanda for the return leg on March 27.
The game in Kumasi has been scheduled to kick off at 16:00GMT with Hughton aiming for his first win as the new head coach of the Ghana senior national team.
