Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil has insisted that every Black Stars player is fully focused on the Madagascar showdown in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Black Stars, who have been preparing at the Accra Sports Stadium for the game over the past two days, will take on the Bereas at the Mahamasina Municipal Stadium in Antananarivo, Madagascar on June 18 in the fifth round of next year's AFCON qualifiers.
When quizzed at a press conference on Tuesday after their second training session about whether highs and lows at the club level will affect them against the Island nation, Paintsil said there was no chance of that.
"With their mentality, they are really ready for it and we always talk about it, their full focus is on the game. The past is the past and they are always focused on the game," he said.
"I think they are really ready to give their all for the fans and for Ghanaians."
Chris Hughton's side needs just a draw to book their slot in the tournament to be held in Ivory Coast.
The Black Stars lead Group E with 8 points with two wins and two draws in their four group games.
