Former President John Dramani Mahama has congratulated the Black Stars for qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
In a post on Facebook, the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has admonished the Ghana national team to aim to win the 2023 AFCON.
“Congratulations to our Black Stars. Great come back from a goal down and a spectacular victory against CAR to book a well-deserved spot in the 2024 AFCON.
“You’ve made Ghana proud again! Keep shining! Let's go for gold in the AFCON,” John Dramani Mahama said.
Ghana beat the Central African Republic 2-1 on Thursday evening to finish top of Group E of the AFCON qualifiers.
With 12 points, the Black Stars have earned the right to compete at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament to be held in Ivory Coast.
