Former Arsenal midfielder, Ray Parlour has proposed that manager Mikel Arteta should consider resting Ghana star Thomas Partey later tonight when the team takes on Manchester City.

The Gunners will be playing as the away team today in the English FA Cup clash against the citizens.

For Ray Parlour, Arsenal needs to rotate the squad and give key players some rest to be ready for the next games in the English Premier League as the Londoners aim to win the league title.

“Man City have got more depth in their squad so whoever he rotates you know a quality player is going to come into that position,’ Ray Parlour told talkSPORT.

The ex-Arsenal midfielder added, “I think Mikel Arteta will take it seriously but I do believe he will rest a couple of key players, like Partey.

“It’s a difficult one because he didn’t envisage being in this position top of the league at this stage of the season.”

The FA Cup clash between Manchester City and Arsenal will kick off at 8pm at the Etihad Stadium today.
