The mistreatment of Black Stars' left-back, Baba Rahman, by certain fans at the Baba Yara Stadium during the match between Ghana and the Central African Republic has drawn widespread condemnation from prominent sports journalists and football enthusiasts.

Throughout the nearly 70 minutes Baba Rahman spent on the field, he endured a barrage of boos and jeers from the crowd whenever he came into contact with the ball.

The intensity of disapproval peaked when he was substituted off in the 70th minute, signaling the fans' protest and disfavor towards the defender, who had put on a satisfactory performance.

Several sports journalists have expressed their disapproval of the fans' behavior, deeming it harsh and unfortunate treatment for the former Chelsea left-back.

Saddick Adams of Angel FM took to social media to remark, "The Baba Rahman abuse is so unfortunate."

Juliet Bawuah, formerly of TV3, also voiced her discontent with the fans' actions, stating, "Baba Rahman gets booed anytime he gets on the ball. No matter how the situation is this isn’t the right thing to do. Booing a player not the best. He isn’t the only player having a bad day today."

An esteemed journalist Nuhu Adams urged the fans to refrain from subjecting Baba Rahman to such abuse.

He emphasized Rahman's significant contributions to the national team, with 51 caps as a Black Stars player.

He pointed out that 30 of these matches were played before Kurt Okraku assumed the role of Ghana FA President, dispelling any notion that Rahman's selection was solely influenced by administrative ties.
