Central Africa Republic coach Raoul Savoy has opened up on his future after failing to secure qualification to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Wild Beasts succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium during the final round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The visitors needed a win at all cost to guarantee a place at the AFCON tournament to be staged in Ivory Coast in January 2024 but the West African powerhouse showed resilience to overcome their opponent to qualify.

Central Africa Republic hoped for a win to secure Afcon spot but the Black Stars proved to be a stronger side.

Raoul Savoy’s men took the lead in the first half but the most-talked about player in the country, Mohammed Kudus slotted home a free-kick to level pegging as the first half ended 1-1.

Ghana coach Chris Hughton made some tactical changes which yielded results for the team in the second half.

The introduction of Ernest Nuamah, Antoine Semenyo, Gideon Mensah and Baba Iddrisu did the magic as Ghana secured a 2-1 win at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday to qualify for Afcon tournament to be staged in Ivory Coast early next year.

Lyon forward Ernest Nuamah scored the winning to help Ghana finish top of Group E to qualify.

"Yes of course, we are building a team, now the world cup qualifiers are coming, step by step we are building a team. Of course it will be better to build a team when you are playing Afcon but this time we did not qualify. We are going to work and keep working and I think you guys are going to hear about us in the next couple of weeks and months, I can assure u" he said at the post-match conference.
