Crystal Palace attacker Jordan Ayew reached a significant milestone in his illustrious career yesterday.

The Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton, extended his heartfelt congratulations as Ayew notched up an impressive 90 appearances for the Ghana national team.

Leading the charge in the recent Group E AFCON qualifiers clash against the Central African Republic on Thursday, September 7th, Ayew donned the captain's armband with pride, steering his team to a 2-1 victory that secured their passage to the tournament in Ivory Coast.

Ayew made his senior debut for Ghana on September 5, 2010, in a 3-0 AFCON Qualification win against Swaziland at the Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba, Swaziland.

"It is a wonderful achievement one thing I guarantee you is no player can get to them numbers without a real desire to want to represent their country," he said.

"I can tell you a third of the time when he is turned up probably he has little injuries little knocks that potential would have stopped him coming. That is impossible it is credit to any player that be at that level and want to be here," he added.
