Former deputy General Secretary of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Anthony Baffoe was at the family house of Christian Atsu today to sign the book of condolence.
Christian Atsu was confirmed dead last week after going missing in the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6, 2023.
Atsu's body was pulled out of the rubble 12 days later after continuous search.
The 31-year-old's body arrived in Ghana on Sunday, February 18 and preparations ahead of his burial has started, with the government of Ghana promising to ensure a befitting send-off is given the player.
The former Ghana international was out of town and could not visit Atsu’s family last Friday with the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).
Today, Tany Baffoe has done the needful by visiting the bereaved family to commiserate with them for their big loss.
“Unfortunately I could not join my colleagues on Friday @PFAGofficial, since I was not in the country-today I did what I had to do -You will be forever remembered Christian Atsu, rest well” he tweeted.
Atsu made 65 appearances for the Black Stars, scoring nine goals for the Black Stars. He was best player at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
