The final funeral rites of late Black Stars winger Christian Atsu will be held over the upcoming weekend.

The former Chelsea and Newcastle United winger was found dead under the rubble of the tragic earthquake in Turkey a month ago after he had spent 12 days under the wreckage.

Since his deceased body arrived in Ghana, his family has been supported by government, the Ghana Football Association, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, current and past Black Stars players as well as well-wishers.

Ahead of the final funeral rites which will start on Friday, March 17, the family is working closely with the government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

As assured by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the government is committed to giving Christian Atsu a befitting state burial.

The President and other top state officials are expected to attend the funeral of the late Black Stars winger next weekend.
