Former Bechem United midfielder, Moro Salifu, played a huge role for Al Ittihad Alexandria in their victory over Pharco in the Egyptian Cup quarter-final clash on Monday.
The 24-year-old scored a decisive penalty kick in the shootouts after regulation time had ended with a 2-2 draw.
Salifu came off the bench to score Ittihad's fourth penalty kick, keeping their hopes alive in the shootouts after El Sayed Salem had missed the third kick for the home side.
Pharco, the away side, missed two crucial kicks, and Ittihad eventually won the penalty shootouts 7-6.
Salifu has been a regular for Ittihad this season in the league, having started 18 of the 20 league games played so far. Before joining the Egyptian club, the midfielder spent three seasons at Bechem United.
Last season, Salifu played 25 games and scored a goal as Ittihad finished 12th in the Egyptian Premier League.
He joined the Alexandria-based club at the start of last season and has been a key part of the team.
