After hours of search, Ghana star Christian Atsu has been found alive following reports of being trapped in the wake of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Turkey on Monday.
Speaking to Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show, the Ghanaian Ambassador to Turkey, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton confirmed receiving information from the Ghana FA President, Kurt Okraku that the former Chelsea and Newcastle United winger has been found in Hatay.
“I am just getting information from the president of the Ghana Association that Atsu has been found in Hatay,” Ashietey-Odunton said.
Atsu who plays for Turkish Süper Lig club Hatayspor was in action on Sunday, scoring a late goal to secure a 1-0 win over Kasimpasa.
The winger joined Hatayspor in September after parting ways with Al Raed in Saudi Arabia.
He scored his debut goal for the club on Sunday, hours before the disaster.
