Ghana head coach Otto Addo has given his assessment of the new players that featured in the friendly match against Switzerland.
The gaffer handed chances to newcomers in the Black Stars on Thursday when the national team locked horns with their Swiss opponent in a final friendly ahead of the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Players like Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Salis Abdul Samed, and Kamal Sowah had the chance to play their first minutes for the Black Stars during the game.
Assessing the performance of these players, Ghana coach Otto Addo says he was very satisfied with what they showed.
“I am really, really satisfied with their performance but like everyone else as well especially for the new comers because we can't take it for granted that they just come inside and connect with the players so well but everybody stuck to the plan, really, really intelligent how we played against this opponent with the ball, really like the positions and the runs and the balls that we played behind and that is why we created a lot of chances,” Coach Otto Addo indicated in his post-match interview.
Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be one of five African countries representing the continent.
The Black Stars will compete in Group H of the group stages of the tournament. In that group, Ghana will battle it out with two-time champions Uruguay, as well as European giants Portugal.
The other group opponent is South Korea from Asia.
While the 2022 FIFA World Cup will commence on Sunday, November 20, Ghana’s Black Stars will play their first match on November 24.
Subsequently, Ghana will take on South Korea on November 28 before finishing the group stages campaign with a rematch against Uruguay.
