Ghana international Nicholas Opoku has shared his excitement after helping the Black Stars to secure victory over Liberia in an international friendly on Tuesday in Accra.

Opoku started and lasted the entire duration when the Black Stars inflicted a 3-1 win over the Lone Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Amiens centre-back impressed as the four-time African champions tore apart Liberia. Opoku set up Ernest Nuamah to open the scoring for the Black Stars in the encounter.

After the game, the Ghanaian defender took to social media to express his joy following the Black Stars triumph over Liberia.

"A win for us, a win for the Ghana. Always a great feeling playing for my country. Thanks for your support and prayers! We keep soaring high like the eagle," wrote the defender after the match.

Despite some scoring chances, both countries were unable to find the back of the net as the first half ended in a pulsating goalless draw.

Improved performance saw Ghana secure victory over their opponent in the second half at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Nuamah shot Ghana into the lead in the 51st minute before Mohammed Kudus doubled the advantage in the 59th minute mark.

Substitute Jordan Ayew added his side third goal before Liberia pulled one back late in the game through Divine Rosevelt Teah.
