Ghanaian international, Desmond Acquah is set to have a chance to play for the first team of Belgian club, OH Leuven.
This is the dream of the talented teenager after signing his first professional contract with the club after excelling in the youth team in the past year.
“Desmond Acquah has signed his first professional contract with OH Leuven. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has been playing for our club since the U15,” an official club statement from the Belgian club has announced.
Speaking after signing the first professional contract, Desmond Acquah said he believes it is a reward for his hard work.
“I arrived here at the U15 and since then I have been trying to take steps towards the first team. This contract is a reward for all my hard work. This season I hope to join the A-team and maybe pick up a few substitutes or base places,” the teenage attacker said as quoted on the website of OH Leuven.
Club CEO Peter Willems is confident in the quality of the Ghanaian teenager. Speaking about the teenager, the OH Leuven boss said, “Desmond is a footballer with a lot of technical skills. He has a good overview of the game and has a good pass in the legs. We believe in Desmond's qualities and prove it with this contract."
