Ghana Premier League duo of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have earned 340, 000 Euros following Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Danlad Ibrahim’s World Cup participation in Qatar.
The duo was part of the 26-man squad that represented Ghana at the biggest soccer mundial in the Asian country.
Despite not making any appearance at the mundial, their clubs will be laughing to the bank due to their participation at the tournament.
Afriyie Barnieh, who featured in the Black Stars last friendly before the World Cup against Switzerland did not make any appearance at the tournament proper.
Per FIFA's financial compensation to clubs following the release of their players for the World Cup, each player gets 9520 Euros a day for his stay with his national team.
The pair spent three weeks with the Black Stars, accumulating 340,000 Euros each for Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
After the World Cup participation, both Danlad and Barnieh have joined the Black Galaxies for the upcoming CHAN 2023 tournament in Algeria.
Meanwhile, Afriyie Barnieh could miss the tournament after failing to extend his deal with the Phobians.
