Cheetah FC President Abdul Hayye Yartey has stated that the Government of Ghana and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have collaborated well with Christian Atsu's family.
The final funeral rites of late Black Stars winger Christian Atsu were held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra today. His one week observation was held on March 4th at the Adjiringanor Astro Turf.
The remains of Christian Atsu arrived in Accra on Sunday night 7:40 p.m. 19 February 2023. The remains were received at the Kotoka International Airport by the family, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), and the Government.
"The Government of Ghana the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ghana Football Association they have been very supportive to the family very supportive in terms of lots of meetings all have been put in place," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com
Atsu played 65 times for Ghana and helped the Black Stars reach the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final in Equatorial Guinea.
The 31-year-old also played for Premier League sides Everton FC, AFC Bournemouth, and Newcastle United.
