On Saturday, Mr. Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association, was re-elected to serve as the president of Zone B of the West African Football Union (WAFU).
During the electoral congress held in Cote d'Ivoire, the president of the Ghana FA was re-elected by acclamation. The 15th General Assembly of WAFU Zone B, which took place in Abidjan on Saturday, October 15, 2022, included the election as part of its program.
As no one filed to challenge Mr. Okraku for the seat he has held since May 2021 when he replaced Djibrilla Hima Hamidou, who resigned, no one ran against him. Mr. Okraku receives a second four-year term to offer his extensive experience to the West African sub-regional body.
The Sports Minister Hon Mustapha Ussif took to his official Twitter page to commend Kurt Okraku.
Congratulations to the President of the @ghanafaofficial, @kurtokraku on his re-election as the WAFU Zone B President. I wish him the best and I encourage him to make good use of this opportunity for the betterment of football in Ghana and the sub-region. pic.twitter.com/wZsbJZ50mP
