Ghanaian music icon, Nana Amakye Dede, has expressed his sadness over the death of Christian Atsu, the former Black Stars winger.

In a recent interview on Peace FM, Nana Amakye Dede stated that the passing of Atsu has left a hole in the hearts of Ghanaians.

Nana Amakye Dede praised Atsu for his philanthropic work, noting that he had hoped the winger would live longer so that he could continue to put smiles on the faces of many Ghanaians, particularly orphans.

The music legend acknowledged the power of death over the living and urged Atsu's family to come together and be united in their mourning of their beloved breadwinner.

"Atsu's death has hit me so hard because I had hoped that he will live long on this earth so that he can continue to help Ghanaians but we cannot fight with death. May he rest in peace," said Nana Amakye Dede.

He extended his condolences to Atsu's family and encouraged them to focus on giving him a fitting burial, adding that it was not an easy time for them.

"My condolence to his family in this difficult time. It is not easy but death always gets his way. They should put themselves together and focus on giving him a befitting burial."
