Nikolas Nartey played in a friendly game against St. Gallen on Wednesday after recovering from an ankle ligament injury. His comeback, however, was cut short after a little over 20 minutes due to an injury.
The VfB Stuttgart midfielder who had earlier given his team a 1-0 lead may have gotten into a bad duel with an opponent and was replaced a short time later.
On 29 August 2019, Nartey joined VfB Stuttgart on a four-year deal. A day later after joining Stuttgart, Nartey was loaned out to Hansa Rostock for the 2019–20 season.
On 31 July 2020, Nartey was loaned out to SV Sandhausen until the end of the season. He returned to Stuttgart and made eight appearances in the 2021/22 season.
