Former Real Madrid midfielder, Rafael van der Vaart, says former Ajax director Marc Overmars has told him Ghana's Mohammed Kudus is a €100m player.
The former Dutch international believes the 22-year-old is yet to play his best football for the Eredivisie powerhouse because he has not been deployed in his best position.
After Mohammed Kudus provided another magical assist in Ajax's hammering of Cambuur on Sunday, van der Vaart was full of praise for the Black Stars attacker.
“I spoke to Marc Overmars afterwards, and he said: ‘This is my best purchase ever. He is going to be a €100m player,’” he told Studio Voetbal of his conversation with Ajax's then director of football affairs.
“He believed in him. Kudus hasn't shown it yet, but he hasn't been deployed in his strongest role either.”
Kudus has been the subject of transfer interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool.
