The senior women’s national team of Ghana, the Black Queens have safely arrived in Cotonou ahead of the scheduled friendly match against Benin.
The queens departed the country in the early hours of Friday, February 17, and arrived this evening.
The friendly match between Ghana and Benin is scheduled to be played on Sunday, February 19.
While en route to Benin, the Black Queens made a stop at the River Volta on the Ghana Aflao road as part of the ‘mission volta’ created by Coach Nora Hauptle. Volta is a Portuguese word that means turn.
She is hoping that it will bring her and her team good fortunes to turn things around to chart a part of success for Ghana’s senior women’s national team.
The friendly against Benin this weekend is part of plans to prepare the Black Queens for the 2023 WAFU B Women’s Cup of Nations and the 2024 African Women’s Cup of Nations qualifiers.
