Despite losing second and third place recently, RC Lens is enjoying a fantastic season in Ligue 1.
Indeed, after being highly competitive at the start of the season, the Sang et Or are having a less successful run, with only one victory in their previous five Ligue 1 games.
Kevin Danso, the club's central defender, remarked on the club's recent troubles in an interview with the German media Kicker. The 24-year-old is aware that the squad is going through a difficult phase, but he is unconcerned about the rest of the season.
"The club has progressed two and a half years ago and finished seventh in his first season. Last season, when I came here, we did it again. We don't realize the quality of the infrastructure we have here and it's really great," he told Kicker.
"The leaders and the technical staff invest a lot and that's why things are going so well this season. Bad form? It's always like that in football. I only remember the invincibles of Arsenal when they went unbeaten for a season, who didn't have bad spells. We just have to try to make this phase as short as possible and we will do everything to find the way to victory as quickly as possible,"
"We have won eleven of the twelve home games, that's is a very good result and I am convinced that we are going to start again on a positive phase. Of course it helps that we still have enough games to turn the tide,"
