In a dramatic turn of events, the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League finds itself mired in controversy, as a legal clash between Ashgold and the Ghana Football Association (FA) takes center stage.
Ashgold's legal representative, Lawyer Quayson, has revealed that the Ghana FA swiftly responded to their injunction, setting the stage for a potentially protracted legal battle. According to Quayson, the FA's response was formally lodged on the 12th of September.
However, the General Secretary of the Ghana FA, Prosper Addo, along with several Executive Committee members, have vehemently asserted that the league will proceed as initially scheduled, casting doubt over the potential impact of Ashgold's legal maneuver.
"As I am speaking to you they have already filed on the 12th today is 15th and they have come outside to throw dust into the eyes of the public," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com
"I don't know if a spirit is pushing them you don't understand what they are doing," he added.
