The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has indicated that the benefits of the Women's Football Strategy launched by his administration will significantly impact women’s football in the country.

The president of the football association was at the high table on Tuesday, July 4, when the Women's Football Strategy was launched at the Swiss Spirits Alisa Hotel in Accra.

Delivering an address, Kurt Okraku stressed that the Strategy will help in the identification of talented female footballers at the grassroots level.

“The strategy for women’s football offers a structured development. A national strategy provides a framework for the structured development of women’s football, outlining clear goals, objectives, and action plans to enhance the sport’s growth at all levels.

“The women’s strategy offers equal opportunities to all females who desire to work in the football ecosystem. It ensures that women and girls have equal opportunities to participate in football, receive proper training, and access resources and support including addressing gender disparities in the sport.

“It offers the opportunity for talent identification and development. A well-defined national strategy for women undoubtedly will help identify and nurture talented female footballers from the grassroots level up to the top of the football ecosystem,” GFA President Kurt Okraku said.

The Ghana FA president was joined today by the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Prof. Peter Twumasi, and other dignitaries to launch the Women’s Football Strategy.
