The head coach of the Morocco national team, Walid Regragui has indicated that although youngster Azzedine Onahi makes mistakes, he believes he will become a world class midfielder.

The talented youngster has been one of the standout players for the Atlas Lions at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Later tonight when Morocco takes on France in the semi-finals, Azzedine Onahi is expected to start for his country.

Speaking ahead of the match, his coach Walid Regragui has spoken highly of him.

“Ezzedine is an exceptional player with great qualifications and a high level. He is 22 years old. He still makes some mistakes, but he has a lot of room for development and he will end up in the ranks of a great team and he must choose well,” the Morocco head coach said.

Walid Regragui added, "He is one of 4 players in the ranks of the national team in Doha who learned the arts of the game at the local Mohammed VI Academy (with striker Youssef Al-Nusairi, defender Nayef Akrad and third goalkeeper Ahmed Reda Al-Teknaouti). This is a great pride for Moroccan football and responded to the promoters of the idea that Moroccan players stand out."

That crucial semi-final match between France and Morocco is scheduled to kick off at 19:00gmt at the Education City Stadium later tonight.
