Morocco will take on Croatia this weekend in the battle for a third-place finish at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The North African side is one of the five African countries that represented the continent at this year’s mundial in Qatar.
While three countries will be eliminated at the end of the group stage, Morocco and Senegal advanced to the Round 16 stage.
At that stage, Senegal fell but Morocco shocked Spain to progress to the quarter-finals.
Despite not being given a chance against Portugal, Morocco played some outstanding football against the 2016 European champions to make it to the semi-finals.
Although the Atlas Lions lost to France, the side will be finishing the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament as the most successful African side.
Amongst the records set by Morocco, they have become the only African side to play in the semi-finals of a world cup tournament.
They are guaranteed at least a fourth-place finish at the end of the tournament.
