Former Director of Communications at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Saanie Daara says he disagrees with the notion that the Black Stars were a total disaster at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghana national team went to this year’s tournament as the lowest-ranked side. In addition, the Black Stars had the youngest squad at the tournament.

After a win and two defeats, Ghana exited the tournament as the 24th best team of the 32 countries.

Speaking to Joy News on Tuesday night, Ibrahim Sannie Daara said that despite the group stage exit, the campaign was not a disaster.

“I disagree with the assertion that the team was a disaster,” he said.

According to him, coach Otto Addo must be hailed for leaving a very talented young squad that will in the next few years help Ghana to compete for trophies.

“Otto Addo has been able to give us a squad that can challenge titles in the future. They are capable of winning the Afcon.

“They can play two or three world cups because most of them are in their early 20s which is good for any country,” Sannie Daara shared.

Following top performances from youngsters such as Mohammed Kudus, Salis Abdul Samed, Mohammed Salisu, Alidu Seidu, and others, there is hope for Ghana going forward with the right head coach.
