Former Ghana goalkeeper, Ali Jarrah has applauded the Black Stars for qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Speaking to Radio Gold Sports, he said he never had any doubts about the qualification.
“Each and every tournament, automatically Ghana will qualify. When the draw is made, everybody knows Ghana will qualify.
“Ghana Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa definitely will be qualifying to play the tournament but Ghanaians are yearning for a cup, that’s all we are all hoping and praying for.
“We hope Ghana will excel at the 2023 AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast, that’s what we must pray for. Ghanaians are yearning for cup. We won the cup three times before Egypt, currently Egypt has won it for seven times,” Ali Jarrah.
According to Ali Jarrah, the young players in the current Black Stars squad are hungry and that will help Ghana in the bid to win the 2023 AFCON.
“We can’t wait for the other countries to catch up with us, we must do something [and] that is why we have a younger generation coming up who will be itching and yearning to win the cup,” Ali Jarrah argued.
