2022 World Cup: Senegal government budgets 21 million dollars for Teranga Lions

The Teranga Lions will get $21 million from the Senegalese government to support their campaign in the Qatar 2022 Fifa World Cup.

The Afcon champions defeated Egypt in the last qualification rounds to go to the Mundial.

The other four countries that will represent Africa in the tournament, which will take place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, are Cameroon, Ghana, Tunisia, and Morocco.

“Discussions took place between the ministry and the federation on the budget. Our representatives have confirmed to us that President Macky Sall has taken all the steps to ensure that the budget is mobilized and that all issues are taken care of in time to have a good preparation,” Wiw Sport reported.

The Senegalese government has also pledged to offer 250 tickets for Senegalese people living in Doha, Qatar to cheer on their team till the final game.

Senegal is in Group A with Qatar, the Netherlands, and Ecuador.
