Former Ghana captain, Stephen Appiah says he is convinced the Black Stars are ready for their game against the Central African Republic (CAR).

The four-time African champions will host CAR in their final Group E game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium later today.

Ghana who lead their group with nine points after five games need a draw to secure qualification for the tournament that will be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.

However, Appiah on Wednesday visited the team during their training session at the Baba Yara Stadium.

With the game scheduled to kick off at 16:00GMT, Appiah, who led the country to qualify for the 2006 and 2010 Fifa World Cups beleives the team is ready.

In a social media post, the former Hearts of Oak and Juventus midfielder said, "I had a chat with the squad yesterday and I’m very convinced the guys are ready and will deliver.

"Wishing the team the best, we dey win today."
