Abdul Fatawu Safiu, a former Asante Kotoko forward, has offered words of encouragement to Black Stars defender Baba Rahman, advising him to maintain his focus and not be swayed by criticisms from the Ghanaian public.
Baba Rahman featured until the 69th minute when he was substituted by Gideon Mensah during Ghana's 2-1 victory over the Central African Republic in the final Group E clash of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
The match took place on Thursday, September 7th, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Given his commendable form with Greek club PAOK, there were high expectations for the left-back when he was granted a starting position by Coach Chris Hughton in Thursday's game.
Regrettably, Rahman became the center of attention as he faced boos and verbal abuse from a significant portion of the football fans, following his performance.
While some chose to criticize him for his performance in the previous day's match, others expressed sympathy and urged him not to be disheartened.
Instead, they encouraged him to persevere, hold his head high, and continue giving his best for Ghana.
In a supportive tweet, Fatawu Safiu wrote, "Keep your head up, bro".
