A new dawn for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is on the horizon following the election of a new president.
On Friday, September 30, 2022, the NFF held its 78th Annual General Assembly in Benin City, Edo State.
At the General Assembly, an election was held to elect a new president to replace outgoing Amaju Pinnick.
At the end of the elections, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau emerged as the new President of the Nigeria Football Federation.
He earned a total of 21 votes to become victorious to beat his closest competitor Barrister Sheyi Akinwunmi.
Barrister Sheyi Akinwunmi, a former NFF First Vice President gathered just 12 votes at the end of the election.
Other candidates beaten to the NFF presidential seat include Former NFF Second Vice President, Shehu Dikko [six votes], and former Nigerian goalkeeper, Peterside Idah, Abba Yola, and David Doherty.
Before being elected to serve as the President of the NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau served as Chairman of Chairmen and a board member of the last NFF Executives.
