CHICAGO (USA, Oct 11): Last year’s runner-up Amos Kipruto won the Chicago Marathon (WA Platinum Label) in a lifetime best of 2:01:09 (60:21/60:48) to move to equal fifth on the world all-time list alongside Eliud Kipchoge.
Kipruto won by almost two minutes over Ethiopians Tadese Bikila (2:02:56 PB) and Milkesa Mengesha (2:03:46), while last year’s winner and pre-race favorite Jacob Kiplimo faded to fourth in 2:04:18 (60:21/63:57).
