Former Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan has disclosed that he had a very good chemistry with retired midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah during the years they played together in the Black Stars.

Speaking to Soccer Chat on GHOne TV, the former Sunderland striker said he had a good bond with the ex-Juventus star so much that he knew all about his movement.

According to Asamoah Gyan, he had similar connections with Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah, and Laryea Kingston.

“My teammates trusted me. When you are in a team where your teammates trust you, it makes things easier.

“They know you have pace so they don’t even look when they are giving you a pass. They just try to put the ball behind the opponent’s defence and they know you can get it,” Asamoah Gyan shared.

The striker added, “Although Kwadwo Asamoah was playing behind me, the communication was there. He was like a number 10 so he knew every movement I was making.

“There were others too. Sulley Muntari, Laryea Kingston, and Stephen Appiah. All of them knew my movements so when passing the ball to me they did not need to look.”

Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah shared good memories on the pitch in the past. The two players represented Ghana in multiple tournaments including AFCON and FIFA World Cup tournaments.
