Caykur Rizespor has expressed their appreciation for Ghanaian forward Osman Haqi after his crucial involvement in winning a penalty that earned the team a late point against Goztepe in round 37 of the Turkish Super Lig on Tuesday.

The club took to Twitter to commend Haqi, stating, "We do not count this Haqi Osman. Sir, we are waiting for you again," indicating their desire for more impactful contributions from the talented player.

The decisive penalty was awarded after the match referee consulted the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to review the incident. This process took approximately four minutes before the penalty was eventually taken.

It was Koray Altinay who expertly executed the spot kick, leveling the scoreline to 3-3 in an exciting encounter held at the Gursel Aksel Stadium in Izmir, Turkey.

Earlier in the match, Goztepe had taken the lead through Emir Ortakaya's goal after 19 minutes. However, the goal had to undergo VAR scrutiny before being allowed to stand, adding a layer of anticipation and suspense to the proceedings.

Goztepe continued their offensive prowess as Ismail Koybasi extended their advantage to 2-0 just five minutes later, thanks to an assist from Tarik Camdal. Nevertheless, Caykur Rizespor showed resilience and reduced the deficit when John Mary found the back of the net two minutes before the conclusion of the first half.

In the 57th minute, Goztepe further solidified their lead with Ismail Koybasi scoring his second goal of the match after receiving a pass from Marko Kvasina.

With the clock winding down, Caykur Rizespor staged a late comeback as Alberk Koc narrowed the gap to 3-2 with only eight minutes remaining. It was then Osman Haqi who stepped up and won a penalty, which he skillfully converted to secure the equalizer for his team.
