Karalis is ready
ATHENS (GRE): Emmanuel Karalis, along with other great stars of the men’s and women’s pole vault, promises a rich spectacle at the “Fly Athens 2026”, which will be held on Sunday afternoon in the courtyard of the Panathinaikos Stadium.

The next milestone for “Manolo” is 6.20m: “6.20m. is definitely something very high, it is something that has not been done beyond one athlete, I am mentally and physically ready to do it, I hope to do it on Sunday, if not, it is a matter of time and certainly if I enjoy the whole journey, every moment I am in the stadium, I believe I will do it. I am always passionate and get a lot of energy when I compete in Greece. We are constantly abroad, so being able to be here gives me an extra motivation, especially at Fly Athens, which is my meeting.”

Olympic silver medalist Chris Nielsen added: “I really like Greece, the two times I have visited. I know Manolo’s meeting will be very good, as he is a pole vaulter and knows what he is doing. I am coming off an injury-plagued season, but I feel good, and my goal is to improve. The goal is a performance of 6.10m; I want to set the North American record, and that is what I am chasing. I hope it comes out on Sunday, but we will definitely have a good time”.
The event will be streamed live by European Athletics from 17.00 hrs local time.
