The visitors shot into the lead after just 17 minutes into the much-anticipated clash through in-form Marcus Rashford.
Seven minutes later, the Gunners responded with an equalizer through Ghanaian forward Eddie Nketiah.
Both teams had to go recess with a goal apiece in the encounter.
After the break, the home team doubled their lead through Bukayo Saka in the 53rd minute mark but Lisandro Martinez leveled the pegging in the 59th minute to make it 2-2.
Nketiah, who has been on top form for the Gunners in recent weeks emerged as the hero, scoring the match-winning goal in the 90th minute mark to make it 3-2 at the end of the game.
His compatriot, Thomas Partey also boxed the midfield to help Arsenal to secure all points at stake.
