Former Ghana President, John Dramani Mahama has praised the Black Stars for their 2-1 comeback win over the Central African Republic on Thursday.
The Black Stars trailed after 25 minutes of the contest against the Group E opponent of the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Thanks to goals from Mohammed Kudus and Ernest Nuamah, Ghana came from behind to record a 2-1 win.
In a post on his Facebook after the game, John Dramani Mahama congratulated the Black Stars for the win and the qualification to the 2023 AFCON.
“Congratulations to our Black Stars. Great come back from a goal down and a spectacular victory against CAR to book a well-deserved spot in the 2024 AFCON.
“You’ve made Ghana proud again! Keep shining! Let's go for gold in the AFCON,” the former President shared.
The 2023 AFCON is scheduled to be played in Ivory Coast early next year.
