Dutch forward of Ghanaian descent, Brian Brobbey has disclosed that it bothers him when he scores goals but is not given regular playing time.

In an interview after the Europa League match between his team Ajax and Union Berlin on Thursday, the striker said he always wants to play.

However, he notes that when he is not selected for games, he respects the manager’s decision and will be on standby anytime his services are needed.

“The trainer said he does that to help me. I shouldn't see it as a punishment. I believed him.

"As a player you naturally want to play. Certainly when you score goals, you want to start in the base.

“And when I get into it, I have to show that I belong in the base,” Brian Brobbey said.

The 21-year-old forward has been very professional since rejoining Ajax from RB Leipzig.

He is confident that very soon, he will be the man to lead the lines for the Dutch giants.
