Former Real Tamale United player Ahmed Dauda has stated that Ghana football won't progress if those supervising football in the country don't stop imposing players on coaches.

According to the retired footballer a Sports Minister, one time called him ahead of a major tournament in 1997 and gave him a starting lineup.

The Minister did that on three occasions which destroyed Ghana's chance of succeeding at the tournament in Malaysia. Ahmed Dauda and Oti Akenten were managing Ghana U20 at that time.

"It has been there for long so not until we stop it our coaches will never have peace. They impose players on you I was just telling Anane this morning whiles we were in Malaysia the then Sports Minister before our first match on the eve of our match we had a call and he said number one number two up to eleven.," he said on Dan Kwaku Yeboah TV as monitored by Footballghana.com

"We were handling the players we know those who had injuries and those who were doing well. If we don't stop it coaches will not produce talented players for the team they have their technical noses and know those who can play in the team. Imposition of players the GFA members have their teams and players they will force you the coach to call them to come,"

"Me and Oti Akenten we did something we were there in Wenniba and someone use his complementary card please allow this boy into the camp. You turn and you see the credentials on the complementary card you cant do anything with it you have call him,"

"What we also did was that we organize matches and invite those kind of big men to come and watch and the supporters will say who brought this boy into the team the boys they have imposed on us we will start exposing them we will put them in matches and let them play.

"Later when we are eliminating they will see that we are doing that on merit. Not until we stop this thing our Ghana football will not advance,"
