Jesurun Rak-Sakyi scored in Charlton Athletic's 2-1 defeat to Fleetwood Town on Saturday afternoon at The Valley in League One.

Shaun Rooney, the replacement for the injured captain Danny Andrew, scored a beautiful half-volley shortly before the half-hour mark to give the visitors the lead despite losing Andrew to injury after only 10 minutes.

The one bright spot in Charlton's lackluster performance came in first-half injury time when Crystal Palace loanee Jesurun Rak-Sakyi maintained his balance excellently to curl in the equalizer. Charlton had won four of their previous five league games.

After Holgate's restoration of Fleetwood's lead, Charlton's goal-finishing was terrible.

Ryan Inniss was sent in the 79th minute for electing to cut down Cian Hayes as the Fleetwood replacement raced clear, Charlton's task became more difficult.

Despite 12 minutes of additional stoppage time imposed because of a series of injuries, the 10-man hosts were unable to score an equalizer.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi played full throttle against Fleetwood Town. He has made 26 appearances, scored nine goals, and assisted three.
