NIDJAM is a brilliant idea but it must have a comprehensive plan to yield the desired results for realising potential spotted at the right age.
One of the Indian federation best organised meet is the NIDJAM which brings forward from every part of each place in the country for example Delhi is divided into zones like North East south west Delhi.
All the talent in each zone then gets a chance to travel to a massive athletics final after being spotted in each zone. After having made such an effort the athletics federation must also invite some of the world’s best coaches in different events like sprints jumps long distance running and get them to spot the best talent available in the country.
They could then be entrusted with making a plan that gives the identified talent the best chance to reach their potential. The talent should not be left to the quality of coaches in their respective areas.
This comprehensive plan could include developing area coaches to the level needed for the talent to develop in the right direction. The local plan could be overseen by the world’s top coaches who spotted them.
Such a plan would allow india to show case it’s youths talent and no one doubts the talent available in India. We have only not given our youth the best coaches which this plan will be able to do.
The Indian Athletics Federation could set up a plan that other federations could also follow. Let’s give indian youth and opportunity and watch the results.
