The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) held a meeting with Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, to discuss preparations for the 2023 President's Cup.
The meeting, which took place in Accra, was led by GHALCA chair Cudjoe Fianoo and his delegation.
During the meeting, Fianoo briefed the Minister on GHALCA's readiness to collaborate with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to deliver a high-quality event at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 5.
The occasion will mark the 66th Independence Anniversary celebration, and Ghana President Nana Akufo Addo will be the Special Guest of Honour.
The President's Cup 2023 will feature a thrilling match between rivals Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
In the event of a draw, the winner will be determined by a penalty shootout. The victorious team will receive cash and medals, as well as the coveted trophy.
Because of fixture congestion, GHALCA has revised its plans and agreed with other stakeholders to use the Premier League match as an opportunity to celebrate Ghana's leader.
