Attacker Ransford Königsdörffer is enjoying his holiday on the Portuguese flower island of Madeira. The HSV gave their players a break ahead of their winter training camp in January.
After training restarts on 2nd January, the Rothosen will play a friendly against a Bundesliga club on 7th January and take part in an indoor tournament in Gummersbach. The winter training camp will be held in Spain from 11th to 19th January.
Head coach Tim Walter has already set the first endurance test for his team after five days of at-home training. The Red Shorts will play FC Koln on January 7. In direct range to the Geißbockeim at RheinEnergieSportpark, Franz Kremer Stadium will host the test match against the Bundesliga squad. FC will have tickets on sale for the game in the 5,457-seat stadium.
HSV will test in the indoor arena just one day following the outside test. The Red Shorts will compete on January 8 in the "schauinsland reisen Cup 2023" at the SCHWALBEarena in Gummersbach.
From January 11 to January 19, HSV will then go to its training camp in Sotogrande. The groundwork for a strong second half of the season is to be set in the southern Spanish area of Cadiz. On the grounds of the Santa Maria Polo Club Sotogrande, the Red Shirts will train. The training camp will also include two test matches, but those plans have not yet been set in stone.
