Sadly for Ghana, Black Stars winger Christian Atsu is among many who have been trapped in rubble after the devastating quake.

Reacting to the news, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has admonished Ghanaians and the family of the experienced forward to remain calm.

The Ministry says it is confident that Christian Atsu will be located and rescued safely very soon.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Christian Atsu and other victims in this nerve-wracking moment of their search after a devastating earthquake struck earlier today in Turkey.

“We urge his family and Ghanaians to remain calm as we anticipate to hear good news of his rescue,” part of a statement from the Ministry shared on social media said on Monday.

The earthquake has led to the death of over 1,000 people with casualties expected to rise to 10,000 by the close of the day.
