The 2023 Ghana Football Association (GFA) Elections have been thrown into uncertainty as King Faisal bankroller Ahaji Grusah's legal team asserts that the disqualification of GFA Presidential candidate George Afriyie by the GFA Elections Committee constitutes contempt of court.

This claim comes on the heels of an injunction filed by Grusah, effectively putting a halt to the electoral proceedings.

The football fraternity now waits with anticipation as this legal battle unfolds, potentially reshaping the current state of Ghanaian football governance.

"This is s serious contempt case and this one they will be in more trouble because they issued a publication stating that the election now is in court. So this one you don't need anybody to tell you that I didn't get this or that," Grusah's lawyer Quayson told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"My client is not doing this for himself he is doing it to defend Ghana and the other members of the GFA. I can guarantee you this election they did it wrongly everything about it is illegal," he added.

George Afriyie in a statement has also instructed his lawyers to use legal means to get him back into the race.
