Teenager Jarell Quansah has expressed his excitement after signing a deal to become a new player of English lower-tier side Bristol Rovers.
The 19-year-old on Friday joined the EFL League One club on loan for the rest of the 2022/23 football season from Liverpool.
“We are delighted to announce the loan signing of Jarell Quansah from Liverpool,” an official club statement from Bristol Rovers said on Friday evening.
It added, “The Warrington-born centre-half, who turns 20 at the end of this month, becomes the second signing of the January transfer window and joins until the end of the season.
“After captaining the U18s team to the FA Youth Cup final in 2021, Quansah featured regularly for Liverpool's U21s and was twice an unused substitute for the first team.
“Jarell, who has been at Liverpool's Academy since the age of five, ended last season by playing a starring role as England won the UEFA U19 European Championship, playing in every game and scoring in the semi-finals.”
In an interview, Jarell Quansah said he cannot wait to get started at the new club.
"I can't wait to get started at Rovers. I'd known of the club's interest in me for a little while and I'm looking forward to meeting all the lads and showing everyone what I can do,” the defender said as quoted by Bristol Rovers on the club’s website.
At Bristol Rovers, the teenager will wear the Number 5 jersey.
